Relying Pure i MiEV Electric Power

Electric-powered car is no longer a new thing even though the i MiEV, Mitsubishi judge is still concepts. Since the late 1980s many manufacturers are introducing an electric car. In the early 1990s in Switzerland, which is known to be very strict in the regulation of vehicle emissions, electric cars are sold commercially.

At the same time in the country, some students from the ITS, Surabaya, fever affected the trend of electric cars. They also make solar power a car with electric motor drive. Subsequently in 2006 introduced electric LIPI Marlip named.

Weaknesses Battery
Development of the electric car was sinking due to the use of hybrid cars. Because the cars that rely on pure electric power can not be fully reliable because in addition to infrastructure are not ready, there are also weaknesses in the battery as electrical energy storage. The size of the battery is too heavy so the weight gets heavier car. The battery itself is still regarded as a source of pollution if discharged shelf life. In addition, the filling takes a long time.

However, according to the passage of time, experts continue to develop more efficient batteries and do not cause pollution. Working electric motor to drive a car is also more efficient. Interestingly, the role of the electric company to develop electric cars are also increasingly frequent. This is what Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) with Japanese power company, Tokyo Electric Power Co., The Chugoku Elecric Power Co. Inc., and Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc. They developed the i MiEV which can carry four passengers. i MiEV introduced in Japan in January 2006.

Lithium Ion
As a substitute for internal combustion engines (conventional) use an electric motor (driving) and lithium ion batteries (electrical energy storage) plus an inverter that converts DC (direct current from the battery) into AC (alternating). For the driving source, use an electric motor with permanent magnet with a smaller size and lighter than the 660 cc gasoline engine turbocharger.

Charging the battery on the i MiEV done in three ways. System voltage plug at home with 100 and 200 volts. For 100 volts it would take 14 hours, while the 200 volt takes 7 hours. In the parking lot is filling fast (quick charger), which is only 30 minutes, but the battery only charged to 80 percent.

To perform regular and rapid charging, the car is equipped degan two terminals or the different charging plugs. Both were placed in a position precision refueling at an ordinary car. According to Mitsubishi, the i MiEV can be driven up to 130 km per hour. When the battery is filled, the distance can reach 160 km. This condition is only valid on the freeway. If the car is used in Jakarta with a very bad road conditions, plus the rolling blackouts by PLN, do not expect these capabilities can be obtained.
